RESEARCH AREAS
I have expertise in analyzing and modeling individuals’ choice behavior and (momentary) experiences in the built environment, and application of these models in design and decision-support systems. My research contributes to the field of Digital Urban Development in order to include citizens in the decision-making processes of urban transformations via digital tools and (big) data. My research areas are:
– Development of methods and digital tools (i.e. digital twins, VR, information dashboards) as design and decision support systems for supporting public participation and citizen engagement in urban transformation processes.
– Urban (big) data science within people as sensors concept (i.e. digital tracking, big data from sensory experiences) for understanding and predicting citizens’ behaviors and experiences towards urban interventions and
– Investigating the impact of digitalization on sustainable urban developments
